Is Withdrawal Groundhog Day?
Jul 07, 2025
When a person is going through a difficult time in life, it can sometimes feel like waking up to the same day over and over again—the same struggles, the same stress, the same pains, the same problems getting motivated and finding inner peace.
Over the years as I’ve been coaching individuals through the antidepressant/benzodiazepine withdrawal & healing process, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard the comparison between the movie “Groundhog Day” and the withdrawal experience. In that 90s comedy classic Bill Murray’s character, Phil Connors, is stuck in a small Pennsylvania town living the same boring day over and over again. Phil is angry and depressed and looking for ways to “escape the loop,” but eventually a change of attitude and heart allow him to see the town of Punxsutawney and his situation in a new and hopeful light.
That is what I hope my new YouTube video allows you do to: see any “Groundhog Day” experience you might be living in a fresh light that comes with a lot of hope.
