Stop Worrying About "Normal"!

Have you ever worried that something about your situation, or you, was "abnormal"? I would bet yes, as this is a common (but unnecessary) fear in both healing and life.

We waste far too much time in life trying to fit into some neat little box labeled “normal,” and in fact the thought of being “abnormal” in some respect might be some people’s worst fear.

The “quest for normal” is unhelpful, and unhealthy, as it can to a pattern of negative social comparison, unhelpful labels, and persistent self-criticism.
