Withdrawal: Live Some Life Anyway

The first inclination when experiencing prescription drug withdrawal can be to escape from life until the storm passes. When I was going through SSRI withdrawal and benzodiazepine withdrawal when quitting Paxil and Xanax, I can remember thinking I’d just like to “check in” or “check out.”

I reasoned that I could check into some sort of hospital, throwing myself on the mercy of tests and doctors and whatever strange treatments, or otherwise I could just “check out,” maybe escape to a cave and live there until something change in my life.

Thankfully I didn’t take either of these paths, but instead I found a way to create a healing environment for myself within the context of my life—without completely retreating from professional life, family life, or personal goals. This approach has several large benefits, and that is what I will talk about in this new video.

Have an inspired day,
Michael
